I work from a modest workshop situated within the grounds of my cottage in the small Cornish hamlet of Relubbus. I have been a professional woodturner since 1990 when a serious accident curtailed my career as a police officer with the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. Initially, woodturning was a form of therapy and a revival of a childhood interest in all things wood which, following encouragement from friends and family quickly progressed to a stage where my work was accepted for exhibition at galleries of the Cornwall Crafts Association.

In 1994 I was invited to submit work for selection by the Worshipful Company of Turners and was proud to be placed on the register. Since then my work has been exhibited and sold at the Queens Gallery, Buckingham Palace, requested by Equerry to H.R.H. Prince Charles and sold at the Medici Gallery, London as well as others throughout the Southwest of England and Europe.

I specialise in all turned work including salad / fruit bowls and platters, mainly from home grown hardwoods, as well as natural burrs and turned boxes with contesting wood inlays.  Every item is unique and is finished in natural oils and waxes. Bowls are finished in natural Tung oil, extracted from the Chinese Palm nut and so, are non toxic.

I also make small items of fine furniture, also from home grown hardwoods and made in the traditions of the English Arts and Crafts theme and which are also finished in natural oils and waxes.
